Actor Nicolas Cage was arrested recently in New Orleans for domestic abuse of his wife, Korean-American Alice Kim:
Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ … Nic was “very drunk” on the streets of N.O. when a cab driver saw him loudly arguing with his wife Alice.
We’re told the cabbie called the police and said in addition to the screaming and yelling … he saw Nic grab her.
We’re told the police came and told Nic and his wife to just go home. That’s when Nic allegedly told cops, “Why don’t you just arrest me?” The cops then reiterated that he and his wife should just go home. Cage then repeated his dare to cops.
At that point, police took Nic into custody and charged him with …domestic abuse and disturbing the peace. [TMZ]
You can read more at the link, but Cage’s marriage to Alice Kim has lasted a longer than I thought it would. I guess score another success for Korean “booking clubs”. Here they are during happier times in Korea:

Here is a picture of them together without the hanboks:

By the way Dog Chapman is the person that bailed Cage out of jail.

Cage looks like a fairy in that fruity suit! On a side note, it's a good thing he has alot of cash. I wonder if she's aware of the "half" rule regarding divorce in the U.S.

What's half of nothing?

White man grabbing and beating up his Asian wife.
That's something you will never read in Dave's ESL. It's always the drunken ajoshi beating up his wife. Good white guys in shining suit of armour never do such a bad thing.

Tom, that was a beauty comment. We are usually the saviors of the good korean women from a life of ugly kids and chained to the kitchen existence. I guess white guys are onl;y decent while in korea.

"We’re told the cabbie called the police and said in addition to the screaming and yelling … he saw Nic grab her."
I loved how the ellipsis provided that dramatic pause before we find out…(wait for it)…he GRABBED her. That just gave me a serious case of the vapors. Lock him up for life. Give him Mel Gibson for a cellmate.
Tom, of course, has better reading skills than the average person and was able to get 'grabbing and beating' out of the text. Tom, you are a credit to your race.

Sorry to hear about this. I had high hopes for them.
11:31 am on April 16th, 2011 7
The real story here is a drunk arguing with the police. And disagreeing with his Korean wife in public. Both are no-nos…
11:46 am on April 16th, 2011 8
No the real story is a drunk abusive drunk white guys making a fool of himself in public. This, after we are told it only happens in Korea.
11:55 am on April 16th, 2011 9
Tom, you're failing at your attempts to divide and conquer.
First off, we know you're not Korean.
Second, we know you're a bigot.
Third, we know you can't compete with the "fair and fat and forty-plus" types who still manage to have great social lives in Korea while you live in some Gollum-esque cave under your mom's apartment in Macao…
The Precious has deserted you and your only hope is to become a missionary and go to Pyongyang…

Guys,
Be careful.
Tom is very clever about making some obviously untrue statement and provoking very strong anti-Korea/anti-Korean hatefulness with it.
He can then point to all the Korea-haters… including those who actually like Korea but just hate Tom.
He has gotten more successful at this lately… and the result is ROK Drop starting to sound more and more like Dave's ESL Cafe.
The last time we ignored him, he started writing longer and higher-quality posts.
It might be time to ignore him again to motivate his transformation to the next level…
…longer posts with quality content.

Charlie Sheen says Cage is one of the few people he truly respects and has been telling a story about how he and Cage were carrying cocaine on a plane and almost got caught but got away with it – and that showed how cool they are…
So, I guess I'll add Cage to the long, long list of Hollywood people I have no respect for…

Are there anybody in Hollywood with any respect, not cocaine, not methane, not pot? I think most of them are plastic surgery crazed crack heads who cheat on their spouses all the time, and who have no respect for people including themselves.

"Are there anybody in Hollywood with any respect, not cocaine, not methane, not pot?"
Are you kidding, Tom?
Korea is a HUGE market for methane.
Korean housewives are regular users. Even children use it sometimes.
There are a LOT of Koreans who would have a hard time making it through the day without the use of methane.
You can get a supply pretty easily if want.
If you want to try it, the street name is "city gas".
3:46 pm on April 16th, 2011 14
Can you get a buzz off methane?
Damn! We ought to be bottling it and selling vials of it!

Want a buzz? Mix deuterium and tritium. Squeeze real hard.

After his recent string of bad movies, it's nice to see Nicolas Cage with a hit.
9:57 pm on April 16th, 2011 17
If he really did hurt his wife, then more power to the po-po for nicking Cage.
But he should have been in trouble for domestic box office abuse a long time ago.

#17,
It almost sounds as if the cops arrested him on trumped up charges because he yelled at them…and that's enough doubt for Hollywood, enough to allow him to keep on spreading the good movies he makes wider apart.
PS. I guess he needs to return his Oscar for Leaving Las Vegas. He wasn't acting, he really is a lousy drunk.

I personally don't think that he actually beat her up.
He is a gentle person. I think he just made some noise and u know how girls can be, she might have just pissed him off when he was drunk and maybe they had some verbal fight, but I doubt that he actually hit her or something cuz she is like 1/2 of him. All he has to do is blow and she will fly. Besides, he is a white guy and I think he is well aware of the word "racism". I don't think he hit her… He married the woman who was basically… nothing!! I mean there is a win win situation in there marriage right?

I knew a bouncer that worked in waikiki a while ago that said he threw up on everything, was rude to the staff, and he personally threw him out of the bar.

#19, Rea, you are wrong. According to the Korean newspaper, He dragged his wife by her hair when they had an argument over a place where they were looking for. She said it was the wrong place, he said it was the place, he started shouting with abusive language, grabbed her hands, and then dragged her by her head and hair and it made the taxi driver who saw the whole thing, very disturbed by the violence. He had to call the police, but the police couldn't calm down the drunk vagrant. He was making the scene, yelling at the cop, and then calling his wife all kinds of nasty names at the same time, blaming her for everything.
Gentle indeed.

It doesn't matter one bit if the abuser is White, Asian, Black, Hispanic, American Indian, subcontinental Indian or whatever. The same thing applies to the victim. When I was in Korea I saw plenty of Korean men beating the snot out of their wives or girlfriends when they were going home close to curfew & were both drunk as a skunk. Here in the states I have seen domestic abuse as well. The race doesn't matter, it is the abuse that matters. If Mr Cage is found guilty then well, throw him in a cage. I don't give a rats piper if he is rich, famous, White, or anything else. If you can't hold your liquor then don't drink.

Nicolas Cage
flies into a rage
and beats on his wife a'plenty.
Than at the cops
he argued and scoffs
'cause he has fame and money.
Nicolas Cage
will make the front page
to speak to public and peers
He will convincingly blab
about rehab
and shed some crocodile tears.
Nicolas Cage
helps us gauge
perhaps we are the fools.
With riches and fame
there is no blame
just a different set of rules.

Have we really got to this point?
"We’re told the cabbie called the police and said in addition to the screaming and yelling … he saw Nic grab her."
How is this considered domestic abuse? He's not hitting her, punching her, kicking / slapping, dragging by the hair or any other form of physical punishment. What you have is public intoxication, a drunk guy arguing with this wife. If his name wasn't "Nicolas Cage" he would of just been tossed in a drunk tank or made to go home.
I don't care what his profession is, nor how much money he has. If he wasn't physical hitting / injuring his wife (or the psychological version of this) then its no big deal.

#22,
What newspaper? According to the guy who called the police, they shouting. He decided to call the cops when he says he saw him push her.

Nicolas Cage,
though older of age,
smacked her without missin'.
Now she learned
that she'll get burned
if she talks when she should be listenin'
