President Lee Myung-bak Visits Sendai & Fukushima

This was a nice gesture by President Lee and I wonder if he is the first world leader to make such a visit?:

President Lee Myung-bak has visited Sendai, Japan, which was severely hit by an earthquake in March, before going to Tokyo for a three-way summit with the leaders of China and Japan on Sunday.

The president left South Korea for Japan on Saturday morning.

In Sendai, Lee visited a shelter for the victims of the earthquake and offered them consolation. Following the visit to the shelter, he had a meeting with representatives of South Korean expatriates living in the Japanese city and listened to the difficulties they have been experiencing as the result of the natural disaster.

With Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabo, Lee also visited Fukushima to express his consolations to the victims of the disaster.  [KBS Global]

LMB is embarrassing himself and the country he’s supposedly representing. Let Japan feed him some more tomatoes so he can feel good about his diplomacy.
