Picture of the Day: Citizens Concerned About Camp Mercer Dumping Claims

Bucheon City Mayor Kim Man-soo (L) listens to questions from local residents on the city government's measures in relation to the alleged burial of toxic chemicals inside the U.S. Camp Mercer in the city on May 30. A U.S. veteran who was stationed in South Korea in the 1960s, recently asserted that his unit secretly buried hundreds of gallons of chemicals at Camp Mercer, west of Seoul, between 1963 and 1964. I’m a vetren who was stationed in Korea in the 80s. I remember burying a bunch of stuff called Botulinum toxin. There must have been 100,000 55 gallon drums that were rusting and we needed to bury them. My unit buried them all over Korea. Sometimes, we sprayed it from the air to get rid of it and other times, we just dumped it on the ground. I remember we had to wear our MOPP gear, but many of the soldiers smoked so they didn’t wear their mask. We also filled balloons with some of it and would toss them at children as we rolled down the road. We also spread a bunch of Polonium all over the peninsula. Yea, thats a true story. I have pictures http://www.valdosta.edu/~mvgriffin/ebook6.html

Almost forgot, we dumped a lot on this island called Takashima.

Lemmy 2, when I read your comment, I was skeptical. But I finally got around to clicking on your link. Those pictures were conclusive proof. My remaining question is about the polonium. Was it Po-210? All isotopes of polonium are radioactive, but some are more radioactive than others.
