Smuggled Document Confirms Cannibalism In North Korea

» by in: North Korea

Claims of cannibalism have long been reported by defectors that have fled that country with most of the reports coming from the period of the mass famine in the md-90′s.  It appears that if this document is a geniune as it appears to be that cannibalism has happened in North Korea:

The report, later obtained by South Korea’s Caleb Mission, provided a rare look into the alleged cannibalism and other crimes, but it did not say whether cannibalism has become a widespread practice.

In one account, a male guard who could not bear his hunger killed his colleague using an ax, ate some of the human flesh and sold the remainder in the market by disguising it as mutton, the report said, without giving any further details such as when the alleged crime occurred.

Kookmin Daily, a local newspaper that first reported the case, said there were four more crimes related to cannibalism in the North’s police report, but no details were given.  [Korea Times]

They should consider human fecal matter – 63% protein, 25% carbohydrates, 3% lipids, and 9% minerals.

What piece of paper confirms anything? Is there such a thing as propaganda?

“……provided a rare look into the alleged cannibalism and other crimes………”

Cannibalism as a last resort and means of survival is a well documented phenomenon. I don’t see how this could be considered a “crime” necessarily, assuming of course someone wasn’t intentionally murdered.

“What piece of paper confirms anything?”

Paper by itself doesn’t “prove” anything…… but documentation can be an important part of establishing something as factual. Documents can be faked, witnesses can lie, but circumstances typically do not. Taking the conditions that generally exist in North Korea into consideration, it seems very likely cannibalism has taken place.

“Is there such a thing as propaganda?”

I wonder how this whackjob pulled the wool over everyone’s eyes.

It wasn’t wool he was pulling over their eyes……. pubes maybe, but not wool.

Only on days that end in Y. And sometimes more just to ensure they don’t get out of line.

The fast food industry already has, the North Koreans are going to have some competition.

#10: Who costs more in terms of social security/medicaid? A healthy person that lives longer or an unhealthy person that dies earlier? Not that baby boomers didn’t pay their fair share to benefit from a broken system and deserve what they paid into… but which group is better for fixing the budget issues for the greater good?

Too bad North Korea have no oil otherwise the ‘world police’ might go hunting for “weapons of mass destruction” where they actually are!

The president of N. Korea does not appear emaciated. Seriously this is a mark of a nation at war. If this is happening in the privilaged military, imagine what might be the condition of the average citizen. Such stories emerge after wars about defeated nations. Food aid may well be wasted without benifitting the people. China may be the only agent to break this deadlock short of the genocide of North Korea by its own government.

ROK Drop has had stories with photos of very pretty NK border guards & I’ve seen photos of Pyongyang female traffic cops who are really hot. If I were to eat one of those would that make me a cannibal? Chickenhead, you’re always the Master.
