Picture of the Day: Japan Women’s World Cup Champion

Congratulations to the Japanese women’s World Cup soccer team.  Definitely a great win for their team and hopefully it will be something to further inspire their country as they continue to deal with the massive cleanup of this years earthquake and tsunami.

Angry American trolls on twitter and facebook were mentioning Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Fukushima, and Pearl Harbor after the defeat.

It’s easy to find sewage on the Internet if you try. Did you sanitize your keyboard when you were done? What’s your point?

You actually verified the nationality of the posters??

That’s pretty scary stuff…you must have supernatural internet skillz.

    *YAWN*

The official sport of the United Nations…. It’s bad enough when the real pros play it. Perhaps if the girls were in bikini’s. At least some of them seem attractive unlike their bull-dyke sisters in the WNBA.

    #1,

Any mention of how North Korean soccer players have a tendency to get struck by lightning and how deer glands contain anabolic steroids? ;-)

Teadrinker: I can’t really understand German. They start speaking Korean and then dub over it and I’m like… scheisse! Ich nich verstand!

    #9,

I didn’t bother watching it. I used to be fairly fluent in German, but that was many years ago (it was the language I took at university).

#3- You think Americans care THAT much about soccer? Sounds like you don’t know much about Americans.

They deserved the win. The U.S.A. choked in the end of the game, and when it all comes down to it, that’s all that matters.

    End of the game?

What about all those missed goals during the game – any one of which would have meant the US wins at the end of regulation?

#5 “Hiroshima”, “Nagasaki”, “Pearl Harbor”, and “Japs” were trending on twitter from the United States region after the game. In case you didn’t know, in twitter, you can select areas to see what topics are trending.

Here is proof, results of “Pearl Harbor” and “Japs” from twitter yesterday.

    As one twitter account posted:

Pearl Harbor probably wouldn’t be trending on Twitter if everybody wasn’t complaining about Pearl Harbor trending on Twitter.

19 – Nope. I clean the spam filter out mostly. I chopped out a lot of crap one the one thread, and noted it. But, since Kangaji is telling you to shut up, my guess is anything that might have been deleted should have been.

The track record you have amassed over a period of years in your largely successful effort to drag down the quality of the comments section at this site speaks for itself. If you have been deleted, I’m sure you deserved it.

8 – No, he doesn’t appear to be using a proxy and isn’t located where Tom is.

Check out the link he posted. Everything I saw there were people complaining about the rabid racism. In the one page I scanned, I didn’t see a single comment using WWII to bash Japan.

I don’t think Denny is Tom (Denny doesn’t want South Korea to hand itself over to China, for starters, plus he’s less rabid).

Also, it would be pretty easy to check out the likely Americanness, based on background and location, of lots of people with a normal Facebook account. Not supporting him; just sayin’.

Kushibo, please stop lieing. I never advocated South Korea “hand itself over to China”.

In 2001, some bunch of Korean grade school kids in southern Korea made fun of the 911 terrorist attack. Foreigners painted the entire Koreans as racist people who were rejoicing over the attack.

Call me when major newspapers start running editorials with the same…

The first link you gave showed a whole page of people complaining about the same thing – with zero examples of the thing they were complaining about.

Sifting through comment threads on the internet is not much of a method for reading a people.

If you see major websites like Politico posting articles bashing the Japanese victory by bringing up Hiroshima, then you might have something.

…..But….my tolerance for ignorance is about up.

    I’m tired of quick-hitter nonsense…
