Wouldn’t that be a waterspout? Three months ago it was a big deal when a couple big ones formed off the Honolulu coast.

I would say that’s relative to where you are when one of these touches down
If, say, you’re in a helicopter, a mile or so away, you can call it a waterspout/landspout but if you’re in an inflatable boat, in the water near or where it touches down, well, you may have a different perspective on things. Whatever it was, it was still pretty awesome to see. In 14 years, that was a first for me.

While rare, Asian twisters are not unheard of. They certainly have the potential to blow.

Oh yeah…my frist trip to the local mall or WalMart should be a hoot. I haven’t set foot in the states since 1993 so it should be quite the reverse culture shock.
