What will it take for a tipping point to make foreigner employment background checks less discriminatory?

    GREAT news!
“US ignores Koreans’ protest in naming sea between Korea, Japan”

    JoeC,
The guy was Korean(fake I.D.) as far as anyone in Korea was concerned and any hagwon employing him probably only had to produce a college diploma – which he also faked. So, “foreigner” never entered into the realm.

What is unknown is HOW did he get caught, someone(Korean gov’t agency?) must have caught on to his fake I.D. and reported him?

In the U.S. Kim was a former gang member(wanted by L.A. cops since July 1997) who fled to Korea to avoid being tried for attempted murder of 2 rival Mexican American gang members in Los Angeles.

    Maybe he’s innocent? The evidence/witnesses has/are probably disappeared/gone.

    I realized that eventually.

I’m still not all clear on how the Korean identification registration system works. Kim took the “resident registration number belonging to an acquaintance, surnamed Lee, who had moved to the United States when he was young and no longer needed the number.” Depending on how old the real Lee was when he gave up his ID, would Kim, taking his place been on the hook do his military conscription service?

Also, Korea is supposed to have gone to bio-metric passports now and requiring scans, for incoming foreigners at least, soon. Would such bio-metric registrations for Korean nationals with passports catch similar impostors in the future?

    rival Mexican American gang members???

Reminds me of a little ditty…

Mexican Americans don’t like to just get into gang fights,
they like flowers and music and white girls named Debbie too.

Mexican Americans are named Chata and Chella and Chemma
and have a son in law named jeff.

Mexican Americans don’t like to get up early in the morning
but they have to so they do it real slow.

Mexican Americans love education so they go to night school
and take Spanish and get a B.

Mexican Americans love their Nana’s and their Nono’s and their
Nina’s and their Nino’s…….. Nano Nano Nina Nono!

Mexican Americans don’t like to go to the movies where the
dude has to wear contact lenses to make his blue eyes brown
cause don’t it make my brown eyes blue…..

“And thats all i got, how do ya like it?”

    *phone rings*

Mexican Americans like to answer telephone calls and say hello
to whoever’s on the other end

Financial responsibility and the modern GOP: “Tea Party aligned Georgia Rep. Tom Graves (R), who castigates Washington for fiscal irresponsibility, reached an out of court settlement Wednesday after he was sued for defaulting on a $2.2 million loan — which his attorney argued is the bank’s fault for lending him the money in the first place.” Jillian Rayfield has the scoop.

“Tea Party aligned Georgia Rep. Tom Graves (R)”

That’s a bit like saying “Dukakis supporter, Willie Horton”. It is a very shady way to dig the Tea Party.

The Tea Party is full of honest and hard-working Americans that did all the right things their entire lives and are now watching the super rich and the chronically poor benefit from their labors.

The media does not focus on the thousands of Tea Party leaders sincerely trying to improve America… but puts all their effort into encouraging or exposing the whacko segment… which can be found in any large group of people.

So when the first few words in the article try to tie the unrelated platform of the Tea Party with the personal actions of a guy that is “aligned” with them, I know it is not journalism… and anybody who would treat it as such is simply pushing an agenda.

  • Glans
    6:45 pm on August 11th, 2011 10

It didn’t say the Tea Party is bad. It says Tom Graves aligned himself with the Tea Party hypocritically. Not at all like Willie Horton, who never supported Michael Dukakis — neither hypocritically nor honestly.

    Glans,

The unholy alliance between the for-profit prison industry, which uses very cheap prison labor, and the “tough on crime” politicians who look for ways to fill prisons with non-violent offenders (mostly for minor drug crimes) is a terrible burden for America which creates a marginalized class of career criminals funded by tax dollars to support private industry.

This should get lots of attention and be exposed for the… oh, look! Snookie has new accessories this season on Jersey Shore!

South Korean company purchases 92 year old Delaware poultry company

    http://www.usatoday.com/money/industries/food/2011-07-28-korea-allen-foods-chicken_n.htm

(AP) Korea’s largest poultry producer said it plans to continue running Allen Family Foods’ existing plants and buy from the company’s contract growers as it uses its knowledge of Asian markets to expand operations.

Harim Group announced Wednesday that its Harim USA affiliate is buying nearly all assets of the nearly 100-year-old Delaware company.

Harim Group Chairman Hong Kuk Kim said the deal will allow his company to enter the global food market in the United States and to build on Allen’s history as an industry leader.

“Oh, Tom just recycled chickenhead… I get it”

No I didn’t. I actually got alerted by the site by the site linked below, where they translate the Japanese netizen responses on various subjects (which are predictably full of racist name callings on Koreans, even worse then the Korea related expat sites).

    http://www.gasengi.com/bbs/board.php?bo_table=member_translation&wr_id=67121

Then I googled the news site by searching for the term “Daily Mirror Korean tongue”. And voila!

Chickenhead #24, It looks like all that radiation must have made ole Albert blind. If anyone is in the Nashville, TN area I’ve found a great Korean restaurant. You go east on I-24 towards Chattanooga and get off at Antioch at exit 57B. Go to the bottom of the hill and turn right. There are three strip malls (waiting for a comment from Chickenhead). The one on the left has a pretty good southeast Asian restaurant called the Mekong (the Pad Thai is really good). The strip mall ahead and to the left has a Korean restaurant right next to a Family Dollar which is not too good. The sign just says “Korean Restaurant.” The strip mall to the right has an Asian supermarket that says something like “Supermarket HD”. The Korean Restaurant that is kitty corner to it has some of the best Korean food that I’ve had in the US. It’s far better than the Korean food that I’ve had at the Korean restaurants near Ft Campbell, KY. Like the other restaurant it has a sign that just says “Korean Restaurant.” You know an ethnic restaurant is good when there are a number of that type of people in the restaurant, there were a number of Korean people in there. We had Kalbi, Kimchi-ji-gae, Ba-bim-bop (don’t ask me how to spell Korean words in English), spicy squid, etc. If anyone is reading this who is stationed at FC I would say it is worth the drive, especially if you have been stationed in Korea & are familiar with Korean food.

An anti-gay-marriage Indiana state representative is accused of offering a young male money ‘for a really good time’. Governor Mitch Daniels says it’s a tragedy.

    Glans,

This is a very underhanded attempt to paint this upstanding conservative lawmaker as a hypocrite.

He said MARRIAGE was between a man and a woman.

Getting naked with teen boys for cash is just for fun.

He isn’t going to marry them.

    His principles are intact.

    Glans,

Working to change the constitution to insure the sacred bond of marriage is only between a man and a woman… and being a secret sugar daddy for teenage boys is apples and oranges…

    …or bananas and peaches.

Teenage boys only come from the union of a man and a woman.

    Think of the children, Glans.
