I clicked on the “campaign” link, asking for ideas and giving out gifts in exchange for money contributions.

Is this a PBS-style “begathon” or is it just a sales approach to sell some mugs and subscriptions?

Having to beg for $3,000 sounds like business isn’t exactly booming for this Magazine. Exactly what is the successful business model for starting a print magazine in 2011?

It would work if it was for Japanese tourists and filled with coupons and discounts.

Give exclusive deals on vacuum tubes, tips on care for buggy whips, and always publish the zeppelin arrival and departure times.

    #6,

Hey, have you seen what vacuum tubes go for around here? I’ve seen someone asking as much as 300$ for a pair of NOS Tungsol 5881…I’ve got a quad that I couldn’t have paid more than 60$ for on eBay. I’ve also seen 35$ for a JAN 5771 (bought two cartons (5 tubes each) from a seller in Australia for 15$). I won’t even get into how much I could get for my old Mullards (don’t ask, I’m not selling).

    Zeppelins are a fire hazard.

    9. Led Zeppelins are not a fire hazard, but Great Whites might be.

Dont’ tell me E-2 Visa holders are suppose to donate to F-Visa holders so they can not only continue evading criminal record checks, HIV/AIDS tests, and hold or keep their a jobs? If 10 Magazine covered stories that mattered to the majority that might be one thing but why would I want to join a baseball team that has criminal F-4 Visa Kyopos or criminal F-2 Visa Waygooks/married to a Korean on it, or who might also steal the place on the team/position I want to play simply because of their status or blood connection? Get a clue 10 Magazine, DUHHH!!!

As I understand it, the guy couldn’t open or begin the business unless he had a Korean connection which screams DISCRIMINATION!!! Are we suppose to donate to propel discrimination forward?

Oh, if you want to donate you’re time they might want to STOP Trolls, which as far as they’re concerned I am even though I’m just expressing my opinion. Shame on trolls(click on their link and read the bit about ‘trolls’). Stop the trolls!!!

Who on the staff is a convicted criminal?

Trolls express opinions, too. Not saying you’re a troll. Just stating fact.

Trolls are described as thin and rubbery, loathsome creatures able to regenerate…

    Think “sock puppets”… http://ace.mu.nu/archives/187585.php

Sock puppets are different from Trolls. SPs use multiple IDs on a forum for differnt reasons. Trolls, to me, are individuals who post inflamatory, usually short comments just to get a rise out of others rather than engage in a discussion or debate.

    #8,

    Uhm, no.

    5881, 6L6, EL34, 12AX7, ECC83, 5771,… those are tubes for my guitar amps.

I have a small 20 watt amp with a 10 inch speaker here (hooked up to a Weber attenuator…my neighbors suck…Then again a 20 watt tube amp is enough to rattle the bones people three buildings over. ) and a vintage hand-wired 100 watt 2×12 inch monster in Canada (   ).

Don’t bother. Just read his 3 posts out loud with a slurred voice. Get the picture?
