I have some Gears of War for them.

They can start with my worm gear.

Whenever I see pictures like that, I am reminded of a young woman I had working for me many years ago. She was an E-5 who made a niche for herself as a supervisor of work but no longer expected to actual have to do any of it … until I took over. She spent most of the time talking about her social life and touching up her make up and manicure. It wasn’t too long after I figured out the rolls in the shop that I decided to make some adjustments.

Her turn came up for a more physical job on a typical 90 degree day on the flightline in the Mojave desert. I paired her with the other female on the shift who wasn’t a slacker, outperformed some of the guys and slightly outranked her.

When they returned from the job an hour and half later, prima donna was wrecked — very upset with mascara smeared and dripping across her face and several broken nails. The other female rolled her eyes with that “Oh, well …” look.

Adjustment made. The first young lady changed her ready-for-work preparations and attitude and we had more equitable work relationships after that.

P.S., for all the would be Warrior Princesses out there. Even when you are playing at war, please consider that the gear should include the correct protective gear.

IDC what anyone else says, I’d do her until she couldn’t walk straight.
