Korean Savings Bank President Commits Suicide

At least when some of these banking criminals in South Korea get caught they actually face jail time or in this case they jump off a building, while in the US the bankers responsible for the financial crisis get golden parachutes:

Police say the head of a major savings bank jumped to his death Friday in an apparent suicide, amid an investigation into investment and lending irregularities.

Authorities say Chung Gu-haeng jumped from the sixth floor of Seoul’s Jeil 2 Savings Bank, following a raid by prosecutors investigating irregularities at seven savings banks.

Financial regulators suspended the seven banks Sunday for six months because of their poor financial condition.  [Chosun Ilbo]
