Picture of the Day: Over Water Solar Power Plant Begins Operations In Korea

Seen here is a 100-kilowatt solar power plant built on stilts over the water, the first of its kind in the world, at a multi-purpose dam in Hapcheon, 354 kilometers southeast of Seoul, whose operations began on Nov. 3, 2011. Over-the-water plants generate 10 percent more power than ones on land, according to the state-run Korea Water Resources Corp. (K water). K water plans to build additional over-the-water solar plants with a combined capacity of 1,800 megawatts at 31 dams nationwide by 2022.

The ultimate in unlimited green energy: solar and wind power… SK will again dominate the world market… Along with nano technology, robotics, and super batteries, solar and wind power technology will be SK’s next generation of cash cows… That will revolutionize the way we’ve been living our lives… And we are already on the brink of developing such technology… I bet Chinese would love have SK under their wings…
