If you saw the port back in the day, you could easily see the Japanese influence, not just for structures built before and during the occupation period, but even those built during much of the post-war period.
For much of Korea, modern structures meant modern Japanese structures, so houses, warehouses, etc., meant Japanese versions of Western-style homes.
