The UN General Assembly observes a minute of silence to mourn the death of North Korean leader Kim Jong-il before a committee of the UN General Assembly began a meeting in New York on Thursday afternoon. Most envoys from Western countries walked out on the tribute.

Would like to know which envoys stayed in tribute. Shameful.
Here’s hoping that the envoys who walked out headed across the street for a bar to drink and cheer the demise of one of the most inhumane leaders in modern history.

#1,
That’s the thing. Although the UN has to remain neutral in how it observes protocol, the envoys do not.

I don’t think that photo will appear in the Rodong Shinmun or KCNA news broadcasts. Brilliant that UN protocol gave the envoys a chance to publicly snub North Korea.

I’m surprised they didn’t have a memorial service for Hitler & Pol Pot. Crap like that makes me want to puke.

You guys do realize half the members of the UN are either dictatorships or restricted countries. And you wonder why their don’t do sh!t half the time.

Tom Lnagley 4, the UN began as an alliance against Hitler, and was not yet an organization, so it could hardly have mourned him. But it did, of course, mourn one of its founders, Stalin.

@SomeOtherGuy I think the word you were looking for is “they”. Your points are now invalid! Sieg Heil!
