The next president of the United States won’t be on the primary ballot in Virginia. But Newt thinks big: this setback is his Pearl Harbor, and in the end he will stand victorious. His campaign director, Michael Krull, explains on Facebook.

Stratfor has been hacked. This report by CNN wire staff doesn’t say anything about ChickenHead. Suspicious silence, no?

Observing Christmas, President Obama thanked ten members of the armed forces for their service, and he attended church services with his family. David Nakamura reports at WashingtonPost.

Anonymous does some very targeted hacking.
Stratfor, seemingly being truthful, unbiased, and apolitical, would not really be a target for the “real” Anonymous.
As for the hacking being done in support of Bradley Manning, there needs to be some soul searching among those who support him for political reasons.
There should be admiration and support for those who stick it to the Man through targeted leaks which expose wrongdoing and corruption.
Bradley Manning indiscriminately leaked information just to cause trouble rather than to expose any specific bad actions.
It seems to show American diplomats looking out for America as they should. And the release of this information harmed those who are working FOR America rather than those, foreign and domestic, working against it.
There is a big difference between whistle-blowers and spoilers. Bradley Manning is a spoiler. He needs to be removed from the society he betrayed and serve as an example to other spoilers.
And those who demonstrate or cause other trouble in Bradley Manning’s name need to carefully consider their true values.

Noda Yoshihiko and Hu Jintao agree, “maintaining peace and stability of the Korean peninsula serves the common interests of all parties.” They also agreed to trade in their own currencies instead of US dollars. Zhang Chichi’s story at CNN doesn’t say anything about the Glans Plan.

There is a lot of gloom and doom being predicted for next year.
But a broken economy, social unrest, and global war are of minor importance compared to other emerging trends which are mostly overlooked by the media.

UK and Argentina are fighting their own “Dokdo” battle in the Falklands.

Falklands sovereignty is “non-negotiable”, says PM
In his Christmas message to the islands, he said he “could never accept” an Argentine challenge to their right to self-determination.
He criticised “unjustified” efforts by Buenos Aires to disrupt shipping links.
A South American trading bloc has banned ships flying the Falklands flag from docking at their ports.
Mr Cameron says the British government’s commitment to the security and prosperity of overseas territories, including the Falklands, “remains undiminished”.

Denny,
In the very near future, Argentina will be able to openly take the island and there won’t be anything the UK will be able to do about it.
It will be a defining event in the demise of the idea of Empire… ending a proud history and prompting a rapid decline on the global stage.
As the UK slips yet another notch in the world economic ranking, dropping below Brazil, it serves yet again as a reminder how NOT to run a country.
Perfectly content with a “managed decline”, the UK is far more concerned with the “rights” and economic status of criminals, freeloaders, and skill-less foreigners than encouraging and maintaining its productive classes and institutions.
This is combined with a high-tech yet petty police state mentality which is reactionary rather than preventative… and targerted at established and productive people engaged in minor procedural “crimes”… being geared toward busting little old ladies for not sorting trash in their detatched dwelling rather than harder-to-identify professional thugs engaged in constant crime against victims that have been denied the physical and legal protections needed to defend themselves.
I can go on and on.
In the end, the UK serves as a warning to other countries of the dangers of idealistic liberal policies… and its evolution and fate should be studied by all American lawmakers, and citizens, to understand how to avoid the same mistakes.
Sadly, America seems determined to follow many of their policies which have already demonstrated nothing but failure.

What’s the Glans plan for the former confederate states? Mexico Stays out? States split from US? US gets out?
11:03 pm on December 27th, 2011 13
Kangaji, here’s the plan:
1. The fifty states stay together permanently.
2. No foreign forces ever occupy them.
A plan so beautiful even kushibo will accept it.
11:23 pm on December 27th, 2011 14
Except, Glans, there are not 50 states.
11:58 pm on December 27th, 2011 15
I didn’t say ChickenHead would accept it. I said kushibo would accept it.
12:12 am on December 28th, 2011 16
Awww, Glans, I accept the plan…
…but you mistakenly said 50 states…
…and there are not 50 states.
This is a pretty big flaw in the plan.

NBA Out…
I worked with a fair number of expats last year, and many of them were NBA crazy. I haven’t paid attention to the league much for a decade since I first came to Korea and then went to Hawaii. Since I’m going to have many days off soon and despise cold weather, I’ve been downloading games to get back into the swing of it…
…and then I stopped.
I always heard the NBA has a tough drug policy including steroids. BS.
It’s obvious. It’s as obvious as before and after pics of Barry Bonds.
Maybe that’s why their covering their arms in tattoos and those arm bands.
So, I’ll go to watching classic NBA games on the Internet.

Depends on if Kushibo views the Kingdom of Hawaii as a sovereign nation. CH is right.

Kangaji,
That is good thinking…
…but, as you may imagine, my only use for an Hawaiian royal family is to remain stooped over in the burning sun picking pineappels and harvesting sugarcane for the state of Hawaii to export.
But there are still not 50 states.
What do you kids learn in school these days?

commonwealth vs. states?

Kangaji,
It is always a pleasure to watch you think.
You are correct.
When a bartender says something that one knows to be complete bullshyt, it is best to smile and say, “Really? I had no idea.” You can be secure in the knowledge that whatever a bartender has to say is somewhere between actor and child molester in importance.
But if the bartender puts on a stupid face and says, “Gosh, I am sure there are not 50 states. Well, let’s look it up. Whoever is wrong should probably buy a round for everyone at the bar.
7:42 pm on December 28th, 2011 23
At that point… it is best to make an excuse.
Fifty states, Hawaiin snowstorms, how many moons earth has, how many James Bonds, etc… my grandkids will go to university for free and I will die of liver failure over those questions.
