Considering that Turkey has already purchased technology from the K2 tanks and K9/K10 self propelled artillery from South Korea this makes sense to invite them in the development of a new fighter jet as well:
The government will discuss next week Turkey’s participation in South Korea’s fighter jet development plan.
The Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) on Wednesday said that it will send a negotiating team to Turkey from February 22nd to 25th to talk about the matter.
In addition, the administration will also send a delegation on Monday to Turkish Aerospace Industry (TAI) to discuss a joint attack helicopter development project. [KBS Global]

What a tremendous idea….. I can see the name the Soju-Kebab fighter – talk about bringing peace to the world…..
Hopefully the Turks will introduce Korea to the Yufka-Doner Kebab. Can you taste the tzatziki sauce?

Korean-developed aircraft are usually named after birds of prey, or other things related to flying. Ungbi, Naraon, and Golden Eagle should be self-explanatory to most of you. Surion got its ‘suri’ from doksuri. This particular fighter is codenamed Boramae.
Korea cooperated with Turkey on its Hurkus program, so another cooperation on aircraft development will not be without precedence. After Firtina and Altay which are based on K9 SPH and K2 tanks, this will be another major defense cooperation between the two countries down the line. Some correction: Turkey did not by K1 tanks, and they did not buy K2 ‘tanks’ either. Turkey just purchased some key K2 technology.

@2 – Good catch, I made another mistake trying to crank out a posting to quickly. Even more embarrassing was the link I left clearly specifies the K2.

… except that Indonesia is on the project too, not just Korea and Turkey. A fourth partner is also possible. Maybe five.

A good final partner would be Hungary.
