Why do American soldiers up there wear the “MP” armband even though most of the personnel posted to the JSA Security Battalion have an 11B (infantry) MOS and are not actual 31B (MPs)? Is there some requirement from the armistice agreement that UN/US security personnel posted at the JSA be identified as military policemen as opposed to combat infantryman, as most of them actually are, for example?

#1, The Armistice Agreement and subsequent agreements covered identification of personnel both security (MP brassard) and MAC (Yellow brassard).

I notice none of them seem to have the side arms they usually wear. They must have been off duty.

At least he stopped for the photo op…

I stood on the blazing tarmac at BIAP for several hours in Iraq and all he gave was a quick wave as he transferred from his plane to the Blackhawks to take him to the IZ.

The only less friendly senator to visit during my time there was Pelosi who actaly threw us a few looks of disdain.

I am not sure if I want him to be re-elected more because he is a decent president or if it is just to see the faces of all the haters then.. It’s going to be a good time. I’ll need to buy some fireworks to really piss of the neighbors :)

I understand your sentiment, but if Obama is re-elected, it won’t be three in a row, since he’s already there.

I want to see him get re-elected so that we don’t have President Romney dismantle the health care plan he proposed and then we have to wait through another 15 or 20 years of things deteriorating and prices going through the roof before another Democrat dares try it, or the Republicans finally offer up an actual plan they hope to pass and it turns out to be nearly the same Heritage Foundation-endorsed plan that Obama had put in place in 2010.

Obama said he’d be more “flexible” on missile defenses. That’s the type of guy he is. He’s negotiatin’ with Commies’ on our national defense.

You all better vote anti-obama this time or else, we’re going to find ourselves in the worst 4 year more years of entire U.S. history (and that includes the colonial times). No more Bama as in O’bama.

It’s all good. We need someone powerful and focused to get us to the next step. Compelling citizens to buy insurance is a big step, but once that domino falls, we can keep going and finally get the kind of government we deserve.

Vince, this gives some perspective in the requirement to buy health insurance.

Plaintiff challenging healthcare law went bankrupt – with unpaid medical bills
Obama administration lawyers say her case is an example of why an insurance mandate is needed to prevent ‘uncompensated care that will ultimately be paid by others.’

David G. Savage reported on it, 8 March, at LaTimes.

@21 – Your link relates back to this prior posting that I think was a really good discussion about health care in America:

It’s just time for change, that’s all. We need it. A big dose of it. And those who don’t cooperate will have to deal with the consequences. We’ll have to break a few eggs to make an omelet, but we’ve had plenty of good examples on how to do that.
