Chinese officials have told the Australian foreign minister, Bob Carr, that they’re concerned about Australia’s military cooperation with the United States: “the time for Cold War alliances has long since passed.” Mr Carr tried to discuss cases of Chinese-Australians who have been jailed in China, but he was told that China “does not recognize dual citizenship”.
