Apple To Try and Ban Sales of Samsung Galaxy S III and Note Smartphones In the US

This will be a huge hit on Samsung if these smartphones are not allowed to be sold in the US:

 Samsung on Saturday accused Apple of resorting to litigation in an effort to limit consumer choice after the iPhone maker said it was seeking to stop the sale of Galaxy S III smartphones in the United States.

Fresh from its $1 billion court victory over Samsung Electronics Co, Apple Inc., in a separate case, asked a federal district court in San Jose, California, on Friday to add four more products to a list of Samsung goods that Apple says infringe its patents.

The new list of 21 products includes Samsung’s flagship smartphone Galaxy S III as well as the Galaxy Note, another popular Android phone. If the court finds those devices are infringing Apple’s patents and irreparably harming the U.S. company, it could temporarily halt sales in the U.S. market even before the trial begins.  [Associated Press]

You can read more at the link, but if the Galaxy S III and the Note are banned then it has to be because of the Android operating system because each of these phones does not look like an iPhone.  If these phones get banned what would stop Apple from saying other phone manufacturers copied them as well because of the Android operating system?

    Truly and honestly the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note is nothing like an Iphone, it’s superior in every way…Sure sue them for the Galaxy S1 that was a blatant copy of the Iphone design but the S3 and Note are not. They are just going become more popular.

    I told everyone this is what their after. Apple’s goal is to use patent litigation to corner the market of smartphones. They used overly generalized descriptions for rather common sense design choices and got them approved. I would be like Ford got a patent on using four wheels in a horizontal aliment in a automotive design.

    Looks like a preemptive strike for the iPad-mini.

    The question is asked;

    “If these phones get banned what would stop Apple from saying other phone manufacturers copied them”

    The answer is, nothing. Nothing will stop Apple from asking them to ban non-Apple, non-Microsoft phones that use “patented” designs, like square shape with rounded corners, pinch screen to zoom in and out with two fingers, clicking on a link, and swiping at the screen side ways. I guess they’re still allowed to swipe the screen up and down (if it’s not ‘patented’ already by Apple?) :roll:

    I can come up with a brand new operating system tomorrow, but I can’t program in these basic features because only Apple is allowed to. :roll:

    Only in America, only in America. :lol:
