Picture of the Day: North Korean Soldiers Patrol In High Heels

Female North Korean soldiers patrol along the banks of Yalu River, near the North Korean town of Sinuiju, opposite the Chinese border city of Dandong, April 11, 2013. South Korea and the United States were on high alert for a North Korean missile launch on Thursday as the hermit kingdom turned its attention to celebrating its ruling Kim dynasty and appeared to tone down rhetoric of impending war.  [Reuters via a reader tip]

I mean seriously what’s with the hats?

Btw, I’d surrender to the one out in front any day.

#1 – Forget about the hats. What about those shoes? I guess these ladies have been trained so that if they run out of bullets they can spike the enemy to death with their heels. The second one in the column (second from the right in the pic) is wearing a different kind of heel. Maybe that’s a developmental prototype for a newer heel-based weapons system.

I admit I’m not up on most uniform requirements, but heels? Really? That photo just seems fishy to me.

That there gal on the far right sure does look like a younger and thinner version of that Songtan Sally gal you all is always going on about. Zoom in on that face and even their expressions look bout the same.

It would appear that the middle two don’t have weapons. Other than the heels.

If American comic book characters can, so can soldiers in the DPRK!
They train from infancy, just like Wonder Woman.
