A US military employee working at Kadena AB on Okinawa has been caught with quite the garden operation:
CAMP FOSTER, Okinawa — A U.S. civilian employed at Kadena Air Base on Okinawa and his Japanese wife were in police custody this week for allegedly possessing and growing marijuana in an off-base home, according to Okinawa prefectural police.
Robert Harold Swenson, 33, a worker in a flight simulation unit, and Sachie Miyagi, 37, were found to have 140 grams of marijuana and 78 plants growing in a room and balcony at their Uruma residence last month, police said. Despite the large amount, police said Swenson claimed the marijuana was for personal use. [Stars and Stripes]
