Report Says Iran Sending Thousands of Troops To Syria, Could North Korean Deploy More Troops As Well?

Here is some interesting news from Syria this week:

Washington’s decision to arm Syria’s Sunni Muslim rebels has plunged America into the great Sunni-Shia conflict of the Islamic Middle East, entering a struggle that now dwarfs the Arab revolutions which overthrew dictatorships across the region.

For the first time, all of America’s ‘friends’ in the region are Sunni Muslims and all of its enemies are Shiites. Breaking all President Barack Obama’s rules of disengagement, the US is now fully engaged on the side of armed groups which include the most extreme Sunni Islamist movements in the Middle East.

The Independent on Sunday has learned that a military decision has been taken in Iran – even before last week’s presidential election – to send a first contingent of 4,000 Iranian Revolutionary Guards to Syria to support President Bashar al-Assad’s forces against the largely Sunni rebellion that has cost almost 100,000 lives in just over two years.  Iran is now fully committed to preserving Assad’s regime, according to pro-Iranian sources which have been deeply involved in the Islamic Republic’s security, even to the extent of proposing to open up a new ‘Syrian’ front on the Golan Heights against Israel.  [The Independent]

You can read much more at the link, but if this report is true and the Iranians are sending thousands of troops of Syria this is a chance for the US to get back at the Iranians for what they did to us in Iraq.  Just think about it the US could give the rebels the same type of EFP IED’s that the Revolutionary Guard gave to their Shia militia allies in Iraq that killed so many US troops.  To make things even better Hezbollah has for months had their troops fighting in Syria against the rebels and Al Qaeda fighters as well.  Basically there is a whole lot of enemies of the US killing each other right now in Syria.

It will be interesting to see if the North Koreans deploy more troops into Syria as well in an effort to end the rebellion since their ally Iran is deploying so many troops?

America is fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan  and giving the Taliban weapons in Syria. Warmongering to the max!

Not only are we now talking and siding with the Taliban it sounds like we’ll be supporting Hamas and al-Qaeda.

    Worse yet…

“From now on, therefore, every suicide bombing in Damascus – every war crime committed by the rebels – will be regarded in the region as Washington’s responsibility. The very Sunni-Wahabi Islamists who killed thousands of Americans on 11th September, 2011″

Perhaps it is all part of some sort of master plot to undermine robotic overlords.

Juan Cole doubts that most Syrians want their present government replaced by the rebels. He says the population is 10-14% Christians, 10-14% Shiites, and a large sector of urban, middle-class, relatively secular Sunni Muslims; not likely to support extreme religious Sunnis.

That comes from the beginning of a wide-ranging interview with Ricky Martinez on Cole’s blog, Informed Comment.

Cole supported our intervention in Libya, but he explains how Syria is very different.

Once the USA publicly takes a side in this war the OTHER side will gain a boost up in the eyes of the “Death to America” crowd that still dominates the muslim world.

    Guess again, Flunky. It’s Sunnis v Shi’ites, and it’s Arabs v Persians.

Please allow me a small snidebar on this topic.
OBAMA, DOD, JCS do not have even a collective clue about the real world. If it isn’t “military sexual assaults” or the 2014 and 2016 elections, it does not concern them or fit into their priorities.
Example: In announcing the utterly stupid decision to flood the combat arms with females by 2015, the Chairman of the JCS stated the reason we have so many sexual assaults in the military is because we don’t have enough women.(!)
These guys are going to lead us in a war against the combined forces of Islam, in SYRIA??!
    DUH! BEAM ME UP SCOTTY!!

Hmm… Sunnis vs. Shi’ites, Arabs vs. Persians… Where have we seen that before? Thinking, thinking… Ah! Iraq! Yeah, saw that one on the news.

Meet the New Boss, Same as the Old Boss. Meet the New War, Same as the Old War…

#10: This time the Shi’ite is in power, in Iraq it was the opposite.

But that time Saddam owed the Russians a lot of money for all the military arms imports, and this time it’s the same with the Syrians. On the other hand, THIS time the Syrians don’t owe money to the French (the other primary military arms importer to Iraq back in the day).

Military arms exporters to Syria in the past 13 years: Iran, North Korea, and Russia (with a few small shipments from China and Belarus thrown in).

You can change the players, and even say “this time” we are on the “right side.”

But I’m willing to bet cash money that the U.S. will be blamed for anything and everything that goes wrong.

It’s Halftime. Switch Endzones. But it is Still the Same Game. Bush failed to convince people that Iraq was a Clear and Present Danger to U.S. Interests, and Obama hasn’t convinced people that Syria is a Clear and Present Danger to U.S. Interests.

What’s My End in all this?

It is not about Syria. It is about Israel.
The Islamist’s goal is to get hostile forces closer to Israel.
The endgame is simply the distruction of Israel.

Ever made the mistake of trying to break up a fight between 2 teen aged girls? I tried that once. Instead I had 2 girls biting, kicking, & clawing me, forgot all about the the boy (not me) they were fighting over. That friends is the Middle East. They will beat the tar out of each other but the second the US or Israel step forward, we will become the target of everyone, especially once “Major military operations” cease…OIF anyone part 2 or 3 I forget…
