Obama’s “Red Line” threat was wrong and still no evidence has been presented which Russia and most people want to see. John Kerry spouts off sounding just like Colin Powell did, he doesn’t even know how stupid he sounded.
Exclusive: CIA Files Prove America Helped Saddam as He Gassed Iran
“U.S. officials have long denied acquiescing to Iraqi chemical attacks, insisting that Hussein’s government never announced he was going to use the weapons. But retired Air Force Col. Rick Francona, who was a military attaché in Baghdad during the 1988 strikes, paints a different picture.

“The Iraqis never told us that they intended to use nerve gas. They didn’t have to. We already knew,” he told Foreign Policy.

According to recently declassified CIA documents and interviews with former intelligence officials like Francona, the U.S. had firm evidence of Iraqi chemical attacks beginning in 1983. At the time, Iran was publicly alleging that illegal chemical attacks were carried out on its forces, and was building a case to present to the United Nations. But it lacked the evidence implicating Iraq, much of which was contained in top secret reports and memoranda sent to the most senior intelligence officials in the U.S. government. The CIA declined to comment for this story.”

Kerry needs to revisit his campaign speech to ‘do one’s homework’ and ‘make the effort to be smart’ or else end up ‘somewhere’. And all that.

Bottom Line up front. Syrians getting killed in Syria is a Syrian problem-not an American one. Better to wait this one out and see who wins.

BREAKING: Nobel Peace Prize Winner Obama to take military action against Syria

President Barack Obama said that the United States “should take military action against Syrian targets” in a Rose Garden address Saturday. However, he said he would seek congressional authorization when federal lawmakers return from recess.

The president appealed for congressional leaders to consider their responsibilities and values in debating U.S. military action in Syria over its alleged chemical weapons use.”Some things are more important than partisan differences or the politics of the moment,” he said. “Today I’m asking Congress to send a message to the world that we are united as one nation.”

Obama has stated that he will ask for Congressional approval before military intervention in Syria.

He is unlikely to get it. This didn’t stop Clinton in the Balkan war (voted down in April 1999), but I would still be surprised if Obama followed in those footsteps
