Doug Ferguson of Associated Press has lost his mind
April 10th, 2013 at 1:47 pm » Comments (5)
He writes a column on what he thinks are the 5 greatest shots in Masters history. 5. JACK NICKLAUS IN 1986 No list of great shots at Augusta National should exclude Jack Nicklaus, a six-time champion. His 30 on the back nine in 1986, which carried him to his sixth green jacket, was the most famous charge of all. If there was a signature moment, it happened on the par-3 16th. Nicklaus was coming off an eagle when he walked over to the 16th tee, which was playing about 175

The 2013 LPGA Tour schedule and today’s example of terrible newswriting
January 16th, 2013 at 7:40 am » Comments (1)
Doug Ferguson is the main golf writer for Associated Press. Yesterday he wrote an article about the recently announced LPGA Tour schedule for 2013. Stacy Lewis was the LPGA player of the year in 2012, the first American to win the highest award since Beth Daniel in 1993. Inbee Park captured the money title, and 2012 also saw the emergence of Na Yeon Choi, who won the U.S. Women’s Open and the Titleholders. Na Yeon Choi joined the LPGA Tour in 2008. She finished 2nd in the Rookie of the

Kim Jong-un Spoof In The Onioin Fools Chinese Media
November 29th, 2012 at 6:11 pm » Comments (11)
In just amazes me how many times that media outlets fall for articles coming from The Onion as being real news: The online version of China’s Communist Party newspaper has hailed a report by The Onion naming North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un as the “Sexiest Man Alive” – apparently unaware it is satire. The People’s Daily ran a 55-page photo spread on its website Tuesday in a tribute to the round-faced leader, under the headline “North Korea’s top leader named The Onion’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2012.” Quoting The

Associated Press Continues To Issue Regime Sponsored Propaganda From North Korea
April 25th, 2012 at 5:45 pm » Comments (4)
One Free Korea has another good read posted about the Associated Press reporters in North Korea continue to spout regime propaganda to the American public: For whatever reason, she put her byline on a story that contained numerous unflattering passages, although these were most likely written by the ten other AP reporters (!) who contributed to the story. It wasn’t hard to tell that Lee contributed this bit: In downtown Pyongyang, university student Kim Kwang Jin was sanguine about the news.”I’m not too disappointed. There was always the chance of failure,” he

Korea Times Accuses USFK of Denying Media Access
April 24th, 2012 at 5:55 pm » Comments (13)
The Korea Times is pissed off because it appears USFK finally got sick of the KT’s sensationalism: The United States Forces Korea (USFK) is accused of forcing media to report under its guidelines, and when they don’t, denying them access. In response to the latest such case, the Defense Press Corps, composed of 25 outlets, is scheduled to hold a meeting Tuesday. The latest case involves The Korea Times’ report on the April 13 front-page interview article with U.S. Army Maj. Gen. John A. Macdonald, titled, “Korea, US closer on

Has the Associated Press Become The US Propaganda Wing for the North Korean Government?
April 9th, 2012 at 8:38 am » Comments (3)
I highly recommend that everyone go over to One Free Korea and read his ongoing coverage about how the AP has compromised what journalistic ethics they had to open a news bureau in North Korea that is now publishing North Korean propaganda in America’s newspapers. As One Free Korea correctly states the AP is now not even crediting who wrote the articles and took the photographs from North Korea any longer likely because they are actual Kim regime journalists that did the work: Has anyone else noticed that the AP’s

MBC Reporters Go On Strike Due To Lack of Left Wing Bias at the Station
January 30th, 2012 at 11:59 pm » Comments (3)
The Chinboistas at MBC have decided to go on strike: Unionists of South Korea’s public broadcaster MBC went on an indefinite general strike early Monday, demanding the resignation of the president and personnel reforms over what they called biased coverage of major social issues by the broadcaster. The union has argued that the broadcaster has intentionally omitted or reduced the coverage of politically sensitive issues, including protest rallies against the country’s free trade agreement with the United States and suspicions surrounding President Lee Myung-bak’s recent purchase of land for his

She is I think the 6th(Birdie Kim, Hee Won Han, Mi Hyun ‘Peanut’ Kim, Gloria Park, Pearl Sinn-Bonanni* are the others I know of) LPGA Tournament winner from South Korea to get married. The 31-year-old Jang joined the U.S. LPGA in 2000 after winning the Korea Women’s Open in 1997 as a high school student. She won the 2005 Weetabix Women’s British Open, the

Responding to the Korea Times GI Crime Article
March 24th, 2011 at 8:18 pm » Comments (22)
The Korea Times is now involving the ROK Drop in their sensationalized journalism activities with their recent article about my posting on the increase in USFK crime: The number of U.S. soldiers found guilty in Korean courts of committing crimes has jumped more than 2.5 times over the past five years, according to an analysis of court results posted on the website of the United States Forces Korea (USFK). The analysis shows that only 48 U.S. servicemen were convicted in courts here in 2007, but the number soared to 66
