SOUTH Korea today banned 21 Americans convicted of sex crimes against minors from entering the country in the first such measure against foreign pedophiles.

The move came after the ministry received a list of 21 names from US immigration authorities.

“They have been convicted of assaulting or having sex with minors aged under 14 in the US and have since travelled to Asia, including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, the Philippines and South Korea,” Park Young-Yoon, a prosecutor in charge of immigration at the ministry, said. [AFP]
