USFK Court Martial Results for December 2012

USFK has posted the December 2012 court martial and ROK criminal prosecution results on their website. This means that when I have time I will put together the 2012 statistics for USFK servicemember crime in South Korea. For December there was two guys convicted of various crimes including abusive sexual contact and did not receive a discharge. I sure hope their commanders do not let soldiers with convictions like this to re-enlist. In the ROK criminal prosecution results more of the guys caught smuggling and dealing drugs were convicted. 2011 Statistics of South Korean Criminal Prosecutions of US Military Servicemembers

Due to the amount of attention in regards to US military crime in South Korea that the recent Itaewon Pellet Bandits caused; I decided to go ahead and compile USFK crime statistics from 2011 to see if the claims of out of control GI crime is true. I had previously not compiled the 2011 statistics due to the yellow journalism of the Korea Times after compiling the 2010 statistics. USFK Court Martial Results for February 2013

USFK has not posted court martial results since November 2012 and for some reason has decided to completely skip December 2012 and January 2013. Due to them not publishing these results it will be difficult for me to compile USFK crime statistics for each of these years. Hopefully someone will get around to posting the results. Something of interest I found in the court martial results was the disparity of sentencing between someone convicted of sexual assault and another person convicted of attempted sexual assault. Below are the USFK court martial results from September 2012 that were posted on the USFK website.  There was no ROK criminal prosecutions this month.  I don’t know if this is because the Korean courts took a month off or if USFK has decided to stop posting off post crime?
