Sexual Assault Charges Dropped Against Camp Casey Soldier

Like I said when this incident first was reported, it is best to way and see how things play out when it comes to these types of he said she said incidents in the ville: Prosecutors have dropped the case against a U.S. soldier who was under investigation in the alleged attempted sexual assault of a bar employee near Camp Casey. Officials connected to the case said a financial settlement was paid to the Korean woman on behalf of the 2nd Infantry Division soldier prior to any indictment being issued.

Something fishy going on with police department in Dongducheon: Police said Tuesday they will reinvestigate the death of a young conscripted policeman who they had announced was killed in a rescue operation during last summer’s massive floods, following allegations that the story was fabricated. US Soldiers Help With Dongducheon Clean Up After Heavy Rains

Via a reader tip comes pictures taken by the 1st Brigade Public Affair Office of the on going clean up effort of the Dongducheon ville being assisted by Soldiers stationed at Camp Casey. The work these Soldiers are doing is quite extensive and it is good to see that local ROK Army units, KNP’s, and NGO’s are assisting with the recovery operations as well. ROK Head Scott has kindly shared some pictures of the damage done to the Camp Casey area from the recent heavy rains that have struck Korea on the ROK Drop Facebook page. The damage is no where near as bad as the flood of 1998, but it still has caused some pretty significant damage: Fortunately no US servicemembers were hurt due to these heavy rains and subsequent landslides.
