Marine Helicopter Makes Hard Landing Near Korean DMZ

Fortunately no one was killed but judging by the pictures it seems that was quite a hard landing considering the helicopter is completely totaled: A U.S. Marine CH-53E helicopter crashed just south of the demilitarized zone that separates North Korea from South Korea on Tuesday. Military officials characterized the crash as a “hard landing,” CBS reported. All 21 on board the craft, dubbed a “Super Stallion,” were sent to the hospital for treatment. Sad news about the eight Koreans that may have lost their lives in a helicopter crash in Peru: The Peruvian military and police are ready to send in rescue teams to find a helicopter carrying eight South Koreans that went missing earlier in the week, a diplomatic source said Friday. It is good Korea is upgrading their helicopters because it is definitely something that is needed.
