That is what he is looking at for an unauthorized meeting with his girlfriend: South Korean pop star Rain is facing questions after paparazzi photos showed him out on the town with a top actress. Seoul’s Defense Ministry said Wednesday it is investigating whether Rain broke military rules by meeting actress Kim Tae-hee while on duty. Rain is fulfilling his compulsory army service as an entertainer for the military. He is not allowed to have private meetings while outside his Seoul base for official duties such as recording and performing.

It is very tragic the loss of life and the property damage these heavy rains are causing in Korea: A record downpour on Wednesday left 39 people dead and eight missing in Korea. It was the most rainfall since Korea began gathering weather data in 1907. Some 620 people were left homeless, while the power at 66,093 homes was cut off and 720 homes were inundated. Instead of a picture I am sharing with everyone a video of the mudslide in Seoul. The footage of this mudslide is absolutely incredible and this just had to be absolutely terrifying to the people in the vicinity of this when it happened: Over at the Marmot’s Hole he has a few other videos posted of the mudslide that are worth checking out.

The rain from this year’s monsoon season continues to wreak havoc in Korea: The heaviest downpours in a century pounded Seoul and its surrounding areas on Tuesday and Wednesday, triggering multiple landslides, urban traffic chaos, power outages and flooded streets, roads and residential areas.
