Statistics About Sexual Assault Within the Korean Military

Here are some interesting statistics about sexual assaults within the ROK military: On average one soldier a week is sexually assaulted by his peers, figures show. The Center for Military Human Rights Korea on Monday revealed data it obtained from the Defense Ministry, which show that 71 sex offenses were registered by military investigators between January 2009 and June of 2010. That is what he is looking at for an unauthorized meeting with his girlfriend: South Korean pop star Rain is facing questions after paparazzi photos showed him out on the town with a top actress. Seoul’s Defense Ministry said Wednesday it is investigating whether Rain broke military rules by meeting actress Kim Tae-hee while on duty. Rain is fulfilling his compulsory army service as an entertainer for the military. He is not allowed to have private meetings while outside his Seoul base for official duties such as recording and performing.
